The Club Watch Community Philosophy

Club Watch Community Philosophy Oak Tree
Introduction

This summary of the Club Watch Community Philosophy is intended to serve as a gentle reminder to everybody within the Club Watch Community and to anybody who may be new to the Club Watch Community that our sole purpose is to work together to increase the quality of people's lives. Developing ways to protect people from crime and violence in nightclubs and other entertainment venues is the mission of everybody involved in the Club Watch Community. We have been accomplishing our mission since 2001 by showing people, young and old and throughout the world, that personal accountability is important to ensure that their relationships and the societies in which they live are strengthened through mutual understanding, respect and communication. This is the most effective, non-violent way to stop crime and violence of any kind before it starts, which increases the quality of all our lives.

More specifically, we strive to foster communication between nightclub and venue operators, their patrons, civic leaders, law enforcement authorities and their communities in ways that enable all parties to contribute to their own personal security and safety. As a society, we cannot leave the duty of protecting ourselves from individuals with a proven history of violent behavior to law enforcement or government authorities. Of course we do not believe there is anything inherently wrong with laws, the governmental apparatus that creates our laws, or the officials responsible for enforcing our laws, but history has taught us that depending on any single source of security (physical, financial or otherwise) always results in slow and inadequate responses to unique local problems, abuses of power, and "soft tyrannies" that arise from too much power being consolidated into the hands of bureaucrats who are too far removed from the challenges that nightclubs, patrons and their communities face on a daily basis.

Who is Involved in the Club Watch Community?

The Club Watch Community is a unique organization comprised of thousands of people, including venue operators, their patrons, civic leaders, technical engineers, business experts, teachers, legal experts, law enforcement officials, and concerned community residents throughout the United States and the United Kingdom. It is also a collaborative environment for like minded people to explore new and innovative ways to not only secure their physical and financial assets but also to protect and encourage their freedom to think, learn, grow, prosper and achieve the goals that they have defined for themselves and their families. As we have learned from Abraham Maslow, human beings cannot enjoy their lives or improve the quality of their lives with the threat of violence looming over them whenever they are at their favorite entertainment venues.

The Club Watch Community Philosophy is Simple

The Club Watch Community was not formed to preach morality or religion to people. These are intimate and personal aspects of people's lives that we do not wish to interfere with. Nevertheless, everybody in the Club Watch Community believes that all people, regardless of their age, race, religion, ideology, sexual preference, etc., can and will benefit from a simple philosophy that places emphasis on personal accountability and increased awareness. This philosophy does not only serve to protect people while they are having fun at their favorite hangouts, it also encourages them to protect their rights and liberties as citizens of their respective countries and to open their eyes to the possibilities of their own personal and professional potential.

There are many self-help books that people can buy to learn how to manage virtually every conceivable aspect of their lives and to achieve their basic goals. However, what these books cannot teach is accountability and awareness.

Accountability

Club Watch Community Connection helps venues and communities hold patrons accountable for their actions.Accountability is defined as "taking responsibility for someone or for some activity." This means that when we do something, whether it is babysitting on the weekend, having a few drinks at our local bar, blowing up a school bus full of children or taking a bullet for the president of our country, we are taking responsibility for the consequences that our actions will have not just in our own lives but also the consequences that our actions will have in the lives of everyone around us.

The Club Watch Community believes the best way to ensure that people take responsibility for their actions is to make sure they are aware of the impact of their actions on other people and the environment. Once people have this awareness, they are much less likely to commit crime and violence or engage in irresponsible behavior that would place themselves and others in danger. This is because to do so would automatically seem stupid to them without someone having to tell them that it is stupid. This automatic regulation of one’s own behavior can only be achieved through personal awareness.

Using the word "stupid" may seem a bit crude or simplistic on the surface, but "stupid" is something that nobody wants to be called for many social and psychological reasons. Thus, the concept of "stupidity" and every human being's fundamental desire to not be labeled as "stupid" by our peers is actually a very powerful principle that makes the Club Watch Community Connection very effective in ensuring that people in nightclubs and venues are held accountable for their actions.

Awareness

When people take responsibility for their own actions it is because they are aware of how their actions influence other people and the environment. Once people have this awareness, they are then in a much better position to control their own destiny because they have a deeper understanding of why things are happening around them and to them. Awareness also enables people to make informed decisions to be more effective at advancing themselves toward their goals. Not only does awareness allow people to achieve their goals, it enables them to see how other people are affected by their efforts to achieve their goals, which is critical to being able to behave responsibly in a group environment.

Once a person becomes consciously aware that acting stupid will not help him achieve his goals, the person will have a built-in incentive to not act stupid. Even if a person's only ambition is to "party-like-there's-no-tomorrow," this is a goal, although it might be a subconscious one. If the person knows that acting stupid will prevent him from achieving his goal because his favorite hangout is owned by a venue in the Club Watch Community, then the person will regulate his own behavior and naturally choose not to act stupid because acting stupid would prevent the person from achieving his "party-like-there's-no-tomorrow" goal.

Of course we hope that people would set much higher goals for themselves than to party every night, but whatever their goals may be, the Club Watch Community is here to help venue and nightclub patrons understand that acting stupid (e.g., fighting, stabbing, shooting and killing one another in nightclubs, among other violent activities) is the last thing they should be doing if they want to achieve their goals in life.
